Dr. Alan Woodson is an experienced and expertly qualified practitioner having pursued considerable post-graduate education in Applied Kinesiology, Neurology, and more recently, Nutritional Reflex Technique, and Quantum Neurology. His teachers have been themselves eminently qualified, and have given Dr. Woodson a multi-disciplinary perspective. If he can’t help you, he will tell you so, and will make every effort to connect you with someone who can.
As a magna cum laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Woodson pursued a practice opportunity with Dr. Arthur Scofield of Sudbury, Suffolk, one of England’s chiropractic pioneers. He then took a position with the prestigious Istituto di Medicine Manual of Torino, Italy where he worked with orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists in the care of patients with serious musculoskeletal complaints. In Europe there exists a more favorable attitude regarding inter-professional association.
Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Woodson settled in Urbana, Ohio, to raise a family and develop a private practice. As a student of the late George Goodheart, the founder of Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Woodson became an accomplished kinesiologist, eventually expanding the limits of this art and science. He has authored several professional papers explicating methods and discoveries of his own.
As a dedicated student of the healing arts, Dr. Woodson pursued a post-graduate specialty in Neurology, achieving recognition as a Diplomate in the American Chiropractic Academy of Neurology, or DACAN. The faculty administering this program included MD/PhD’s who broadened Dr. Woodson’s understanding of the role of chiropractic in primary care.
With these credentials, a wealth of experience after 30 years as a primary care chiropractor, and a gift for explaining things, Dr. Woodson in recent years has become involved in education. He has honed his professional expertise by teaching Anatomy and Physiology to massage therapy students at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, and at Miami-Jacobs Career College, Troy Campus, as well as the Dayton Campus. Dr. Woodson is an advocate of massage and bodywork, and while not providing these services at present in his office, he does prescribe them when needed.
Like many other chiropractors, Dr. Woodson has found that nutritional support is essential in many cases in order to gain and keep the benefits of the chiropractic adjustment. His educational background, experience, and innovative intellect enable him to get to the root of a problem, and his superb palpation skills and adjusting technique enable him to get dramatic results in many cases. |
